Blog EntryAnd Then There Was One...Jul 14, '08 5:10 PM
for everyone

One sheep left. And I still couldn't get any sleep... So here I am writing this ridiculous post at 5:10 in the morning... my alarm clock is going to go off in about a hour's time... and then it's time to go to work sleep work....

What is wrong?

Maybe it's that little conversation I had with my boss yesterday.... :-(

Demoralising sia!!!

Oh well, gotta take things in my stride and think positively right? maybe all this positive thinking is giving me insomnia.

Blog EntryIt's All About SurvivalMay 4, '08 11:37 PM
for everyone
There's a saying that goes "Time flies when you're having fun". Fun? I am definitely NOT having fun. The past 4 months was anything but fun. And see how fast time has gone by.... blink of the eye and we're 5 months into 2008.

Things are not going well at work, in fact, it's getting a bit out of hand. I used to feel in control of things, but with the recent changes in the work environment (I am not talking about the renovation or whatsoever), everyday is just like a day of survival in the wild... watching our backs in fear of "poisonous" arrows from predators ... watching our steps so as to not step on anybody's tail (or shit)... and also watching our heads, in case some bird sitting on top of the trees decides to drop some dung on you... it's all about survival.

Some of you might wonder, "Not so bad right, Justin seems happy, what?!".

Yes, I might "look" happy... but in fact, i'm feeling like shit inside. Sometimes, there are moments whereby it so damn painful just to put up a happy front in the presence of family and friends. Hypocritical some might think... not by choice. I wondered how it feels like to be showered with care and concern once in a while...

Usually, episodes like this will just pass by rather quickly... one or two days weeks MAX.... but of course, that was with the help of "comic therapy" from Jason Hahn... so i got a rude awakening when I visited his webbie recently and discovered that it has not been updated for quite a while.... WHERE IS JASON HAHN???

I've been a huge fan of Jason since his last novel "Table for Three", a collections of anecdotes about his life with Amanda and Saffy. The thing i liked about his writing is that it's very localised... and sometimes when you're reading them, so can almost put yourself in his place.... almost like a secret fantasy... haha.

Nonetheless, i need my intake of comic therapy and I need it now!

7,776,000 more seconds to go.

Blog EntryThe One before Lunar New YearFeb 5, '08 12:27 AM
for everyone
I know it's been a long while since i wrote something here. That's because I've been working slogging away with work...

In the blink of an eye, it's already February, which means that the end of the financial year is drawing close. I believe for those that follows my blog would know that this is the 'busiest' period for me, especially. To make matters worse, I was asked to attend a 4-week long course. Even though the lectures and workshops are very interesting, especially when they cover topics like "Rat-a-tat-tat, Vroom-Vroom, Thew-thew, and Ka-boom!".... don't get it? haha... bo bian... quoting one of my course-mate, "Classified lor!"

Despite being on course from 8:30 am to 5pm, I was still expected to do my daily work when i'm back home... sometimes I wonder how many hours of work do we have to put in?

If the 14-hours-a-day work schedule wasn't enough to wreak havoc with my stress-level and HBP, the shocking news of my mum's serious fall at school last Wednesday was the ultimatum. She suffered a fracture on her right arm (i saw the X-ray, it was REALLY serious!)... In the end, she required surgery to insert a metal plate rod thingy into her arm to assist the healing. Thank goodness the operation was successful and she had since been discharged and recuperating at home... so that's a load off my chest.

Today also marks the end of the course... FINALLY! Hopefully my stress level will be back to normal soon.

Tomorrow, it's officially back to work again... *sigh*... backlogs to clear, bosses to appease... :(

but then again, Lunar New Year is just less than 48 hours away... maybe the RAT year will be a better year for me.... time to check the almanac!!

So, wishing all my chinese friends a PROSPEROUS CHINESE NEW YEAR!! Gong Xi! Gong Xi!

Blog EntryThe One where I turned Three-Six.Jan 14, '08 10:56 AM
for everyone
I'm drawing inspiration from the oh-so-famous "Friends" TV series for 2008's postings... Post titles are going to be starting with "The One..." and hopefully, i'll be able to keep to it.

I officially turned 36 today... and if it wasn't for the wonderful events my bro and my colleagues had lined up for me, i would probably be home sulking (haha... male menopause?)

I must first thank my bro darteo who had organised all the events for the day, from the cake-cutting session in office, to the wonderful dinner at Astons... if i had missed out anyone who was part of the 'organising committee', my apologies. My sincerest thanks to you too!

Well, it was my first time at Astons and I must say that the food was really good! I've heard about it from cowan, and was the one who 'hinted' to darteo sometime in August (we wanted to try that for his birthday, but in the end I opted for the much overhyped and overpriced Morton's instead)... but nonetheless, he remembered!!

Everybody that needs to be there were there for dinner... It was really nice seeing Connie and Lay Foo... and of course the 'mystery-guest-who-wasn't-much-of-a-mystery' Jiahui...

I had the 18-ounce Porterhouse, and probably another 6 ounces of Jiahui's New York Strips... see lah... eat so much bread until cannot finish the main course... :P

I really enjoyed every moment of their company tonight... you're the best bunch of friends I could every wish for...

to the ones that have left the organisation; layfoo, connie & jiahui, thanks for taking the time to join us.

to the one(s) that are going to leave soon; you-know-who, thank you and I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

to the ones who are still 'stuck' with me; jules, ahheng, gisbabe & stef thank you and where are we going for lunch tomorrow har?

and to my bro darteo, a big THANK YOU for everything!

to my secondary school mates; will and fauzi, thank you too for the straits kitchen dinner and annual drive-past at ASH...

and last but not least, to those who had send in their wishes over MSN, in SMSes, on Friendster, on Facebook, overseas call from Australia, and Email... GUM XIA!!! ARIGATO!!!

Time to move on now and plan the 1st February PARTY!!! Wooooooo!!!

Blog EntryThe Last Post for 2007.Dec 31, '07 8:02 AM
for everyone

"Should auld aquaintance be forgot, And never brought to min'?"
Robert Burns (1759 - 1796) Scottish poet.

My friends, have a wonderful 2008 ahead.

Happy New Year.

I have finally gotten some 'spare' time to do this entry cos it is DAMN late already... it was supposed to be up last week, but my week had been so hectic that I barely had any time left...

The main event of last week had to be jules and jiahui's birthdays... one's on the 30th of Oct and the other's 1 Nov, so we decided to do it on Halloween's, and since it was a working day the following day, we thought it's just going to be dinner (WITH CAKE).

I chose this cosy little place in the East that my friend Colin had recommended called 'The Bark Cafe', which was located within the Changi Chapel and Museum. I've tried it the last time my reservist mates went for Cohesion night... and thought the ambience was quite nice... on top of that, parking is FREE!!! The only problem is ... damn far from workplace lah!!! (and somemore, the guys driving there got LOST!!!)

Anyway, the cafe serves Western and Local food. The fried chicken wing was FANTASTIC and we ended up eating 3 plates of them... jiahui went for their signature Crayfish Seafood Hor Fun... and ended up eating ONLY the crayfish... wasteful woman! haha... Jules had the Paprika Chicken Thigh... and I, after downing 4 chicken wings, decided to go light and went for the omelette... which was... errr... not very nice... LOR. Darteo had the Beef Ghoulash (sic)... quite yummy...

Cake followed... and then there was that GAME that I had to play, alone...

Jiahui managed to buy 5 miniature bottles of Absolut Vodka from her last trip... out of the 5, I wanted only 2... Absolut Pear and Absolut Peppar...So, she wrapped all 5 bottles up and I had to pick from the bag... if it's the flavour I wanted... i'm safe... if not, i've to finish the bottle before i get to pick another... simple? haha... it went in this order by the way ... Peppar (Yeah!), Citron (gulp..gulp...gulp..), Mandarin (gulp...gulp..), Ruby Red (gulp..!), Pear (*hic*)... so now my collection is COMPLETE...

Blog EntryThis Leopard Runs Like A Cheetah!Oct 28, '07 6:42 AM
for everyone

I got home especially early on Friday to wait for the the spotted cat to be delivered... It was supposed to be delivered on the 26th (the official launch of the Mac OS X Upgrade 'Leopard'), but i didn't get my hands on my copy until the following day... nonetheless, it was well worth the wait!!!

I spent the whole weekend 'transforming' my MacBook from a 'Tiger' to a 'Leopard'... not that i was having problems with the installation, which incidentally, took only 5 clicks and 1 hour plus of waiting time, but i was just busy fiddling with all the new features... so fun!

The new operating system has 300+ new features (eg. Time Machine, Spaces, Stacks etc)... but i guess the best bit was that my Mac runs so much faster!! I can tell, cos now I can run Windows XP and Mac OS X SIMULTANEOUSLY without any latency (it used to freeze up when i toggle between the 2 OSes)...

Well done Apple!!

Blog EntryOverwealmed.Oct 8, '07 11:55 AM
for everyone
Today had been a horrible day! I am so overwealmed with work that I didn't know where to start. Everything seemed to be going wrong.... the files and papers are stacking up... my phone was ringing off the hook... I really need to priortise and work on ONE thing at a time...

I was at the dentist in the morning to get my chipped tooth looked at, and I was told that I need to do a crown for it... She told me it's gonna cost me around $500 for the whole procedure... but i still went ahead with it. So she took some x-ray, took a mould of my teeth, and patched up my tooth (apparently the crowning can only be done next week)... and the whole bill (just for today) came up to $190! DAMN!!!!

I had the SHOCK of my life when I reached home in the evening and found this package on my table... it's from my best friend Elaine.... and guess what....

My own PERSONALIZED iPod TOUCH!!! (yar... my name's engraved on the back!!)

Aiyoh! WOMAN!!! Why??? My b'day is in January leh... Christmas is still FAR away... you sure you got the correct Justin or not?? haha... ok... after hearing your explanation over the phone just now... i understand now... THANK YOU! THANK YOU! you really made my day!! But next time, I want iPhone HORRRR. :P

Darteo is back from his Europe roadtrip! Welcome back bro!!

Blog EntryThe Last 60 hours : Leaving Las VegasSep 29, '07 11:55 AM
for everyone
My last few days in Vegas was quite packed. I went on the much-hyped Grand Canyon Helicopter tour, which really burnt a whole in my pockets... a whopping USD 365 for a 1.5 hour fly-past of the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Strip...

But it was damn exciting!!!

I can't remember the last time I was on a helicopter... I think it was when i was almost 8 years old... The ride was exhilarating... I was just sitting next to the pilot...and had a great view throughout the entire tour...

I also did all my last minute shopping for those that passed me their shopping lists...

Besides the heli-tour, I also went around the world in 4 hours flat! haha... Here's how I did it!

Egypt to New York

I started off in "Egypt". Luxor has got the be the most spectacular hotel on the strip... The main building consists of a 30-storey high pyramid... and it was guarded by a ten-storey high sphinx!

After Egypt, I took the monorail to Excalibur, and walked over to "New York".

New York! New York! has a replica of the Statue of Liberty which marked the entrance to the hotel. The coolest thing about this hotel is that there is a roller-coaster ride WITHIN the hotel itself!!

Monte Carlo to Paris

From "New York", I headed northwards to Monte Carlo, an European-themed resort... and just across the street, is Paris Las Vegas! Paris LV is designed to resemble a mini version of France. The highlight was the 50-storey high replica of the Eiffel Tower...

Tuscany to Venice via Rome

Next stop, Bellagio! The tuscan-themed hotel has one of the most beautiful water fountain displays in the world... the Sentosa Musical Fountain pales in comparison!!! A short walk via the linkways, I will find myself in Rome... i mean... Caesar Palace....

Continuing north, my next destination was The Venetian, which tried to recreate the charms of Venice...

There! Around the world in 4 hours... not too bad right?

Anyway, I had to check out of the Imperial Palace a day earlier because I made a stupid mistake and booked ONE DAY short of my stay... luckily I managed to find another hotel that was offering a 'web special rate'... and now i can tell my friends that I have stayed at the Bellagio!!!!

The rooms, services, amenities, environment is a complete 180 degrees from Imperial Palace's... The front desk was so friendly, and they even offered me a room with a SUPERB view of the Bellagio Fountain! The place is so nice that it's a pity that i'm staying only less than 24 hours there... cos i checked out at 0600 hr on 25th Sep to catch my flight back home...

My flight home was quite pleasant as the flight wasn't full, and I managed to get the emergency exit seats with no one else sitting in my row.... so it's kinda like 'First Class in Economy'...

Touched down in Singapore yesterday morning at 3 am... Glad to be home! I missed my bed.

Blog EntryThe Past 48 hours...Sep 23, '07 9:17 PM
for everyone

It's 6:17 pm on a bright hot Sunday here in Las Vegas, but the weather was not so fine for the last 48 hours.  There had been strong winds (a typhoon warning was raised actually), and heavy downpour that caused a bit of flooding on the streets... rain in the desert? cannot associate lah.. haha...

Anyway, today (23 Sep) marks the start of fall (autumn) in Las Vegas, the weather is suppose to turn cooler...

Well, I've been getting busy for the past 48 hours too... Busy with shopping of course! Yesterday it was the Factory Outlet at Primm Valley (35 mins away from LV), and this morning, it was the Premium Outlets at Downtown LV. Spent so much money sia! Managed to get some good bargains at the Banana Republic, Gap, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Kenneth Cole and Cole Hann.

Besides shopping, I also managed to catch a show at the MGM Grand... Joan recommended Cirque du Soleil's 'KA' and it was SUPER SPECTACULAR!!! I managed to get pretty good seats, just 4 rows from the stage... so close that the performers were just doing their trapeze act above my head... haha... Highly recommended for those that are planning to visit Las Vegas...

The traffic in Vegas is horrendous!! The streets are full of cars... and the pavements are full of pedestrian!! Thank goodness for the Monorail, which brings us to most of the major hotels... but i realised that the entrances and exits of the monorail stations are strategically 'designed' in such a way that you'll have to go through the hotel's casino in order to get out onto the Strip... I'm so familar now with the Monorail routes that I was able to give directions to an Indian couple this morning ... hahaha.... macham acting local (complete with slang)....

Foodwise, unless you're willing to queue at the buffet lines (as low as USD4.99) at the hotels, is a bit on the pricey side... this is excluding the 10-15% MANDATORY tip for the waiters/waitresses.

Now that the weekend is over, the heavy traffic (humans and automobiles) should die down...

Well... time for dinner...... yar... i'm eating ONLY this.... *sob sob ... YUMMY*

Blog Entry60 hours and countingSep 20, '07 6:36 PM
for everyone

It says 6:37 am on my desktop, when it's actually 3:37 pm (Thursday, 20th) over here.

I've actually spent almost 60 hours in Las Vegas... and frankly speaking, I'm almost getting bored...

The flight into Las Vegas was quite ok... despite the long hours in the air, I managed to get a 'good' seat, right at the back on the plane (cos by the time i checked-in online, the plane was already full). The seat I had managed to recline 45 degrees, so i managed to get some sleep.

The first leg of the flight was 7 hours, to Japan, then it was another 10 hours to Los Angeles, and then it was a 4 hours wait at the Domestic terminal before my 49 mins flight into Las Vegas...

Checked into the Imperial Palace Hotel, where i'll be staying for almost 90% of my trip here. The hotel was quite old... and the gamblers at the casino were also on the old side...but my conference venue was just across the street... phew... so convenient.

Before I left for this trip, gisbabe actually told me that the hotels are quite far apart despite what it says in the maps... but based on my 'rusty' topo skills I learnt way back during my army days, i was thinking "c'mon lah, the ruler showed 15cm lah, how far can it be?", based on my 'rusty' topo skills I learnt way back during my army days... AND BOY WAS I WRONG!!!

On the second day, after collecting my conference pass and materials, i decided to go jalan jalan to look for my DVDs... and I managed to find out that Target (a store) sells them the cheapest, and the map says the store is just 3 streets away from my hotel... so i put on my shades, sunblock... and went on my little adventure.

I walked....

... and walked...

... and walked...

In the end, it took me almost 1 hour to reach my destination! :( and the 38 degree celsius desert sun was not helping either... this was even worse than my 24km route march... (don't forget, i had to walk back somemore). I could not feel my legs anymore by the time i reached my hotel room... so I have learnt my lesson.... got cramps some more!! hahaha

The conference officially started yesterday... and scheduled to end tomorrow. It was a very interesting conference ... and the venue (Caeser's Palace), is absolutely BEAUTIFUL...

Tried my luck at the slot machines a moment ago, but ended up losing $20... No luck means no luck... haha

Oh shit... battery running flat liao.... gotta go, for now... bon voyage to darteo and kee-squared, as well as jules and jiahui (oooooo...ooooo!), who are all going (or have gone) off for their trips!... Oh.. bon voyage to cowan too, going KL ... you guys (and gals) have FUN!!!

More to come... later!

Blog EntrySo, this is what a 'brother' is supposed to do...Sep 16, '07 12:37 PM
for everyone
I just came back from William and Sharon's wedding... and it had been a really hectic day! Firstly, I was part of the 'brother' contingent, so i had to haul my lazy ass to Tampines at 5 am to get ready to pick up the bride, who happened to stay in Bukit Batok.... and the weather wasn't really helping...

Luckily, the jie-meis were quite lenient (probably because we were running late... and the parents didn't want to miss the auspicious hour)... so all William had to do was a pole dance (which he did HORRIBLY), and a few rounds of the hoola-hooping (which he did horribly AGAIN)... all i did was stood there and LAUGHED... if that's what a 'brother' is supposed to do, then... err.... quite fun lor.

Anyway, we were let off around 10 am... so i went over to Tampines Mall and bought myself a brand new 'toy'... and managed to get back home to rest for a while before my next BIG assignment in the evening... Emcee!!!!

So, i had to haul my lazy ass down to Grand Hyatt at 5pm to run through the rehearsals with William and Sharon... since this was my third fourth sixth time being an emcee for weddings, everything's seemed second nature to me... haha... maybe i should switch to hotel banquet management, you should see how fierce those manager are, scolding the waiters and waitresses during the closed door rehearsals.

So, everything went exactly as planned, no glitches, even the guests were cooperative and came ON TIME... the whole dinner ended around 10:30 pm (as planned).

I wish I could stayed longer, but I had to rush home to finish my packing... cos in another 6 hours, i'll be en-route to Las Vegas for conference... SWEEEEET!!

I've known William since our secondary school days, so it's been almost close to 20 years... many of those sitting in the same table were surprised that we could actually maintain this friendship for so long... and i felt very touched to have him mentioned my name during his speech on stage ...

So here's my best wishes to William and Sharon on their wedding... congratulations.

Ok... gotta go pack this computer into my luggage... VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!

Blog EntryFresh Off The Shelves...Sep 2, '07 4:20 AM
for everyone

Alright, it isn't really 'fresh' cos it took a plane from US to HK to Singapore... but it was released officially in the States on 6 days ago. :D Finally, thanks to my cousin, i've gotten myself a copy of the "Heroes Season 1 DVD". From what i heard, it's only going to be available here in Singapore sometime October... unless you import them or ask travelling friends to buy...

Nonetheless, I've put off watching the series on cable, as well as those downloaded versions... cos i prefer watching them commercial-free AND on a real TV. So now i've got some catching up to do...

And if things go well, i'll be able to catch the Second Season premiere of Heroes when i'm in Las Vegas two weeks from now.... keeping my fingers crossed here.... :D

Blog EntryI Bought Cake!Aug 25, '07 4:23 AM
for everyone

It said "24 August 2007, 2359 hr" on my SAF100A...that was supposed to be 'official' time I will be let off from my in-camp, and thank goodness for the weather, I managed to out-processed a cool 12 hours ahead of schedule... raining wor... exercise cut wor... scared falling tree branches and lightning strikes wor....

Anyway, it was good news for me... cos originally, i wasn't sure as to whether i was able to attend darteo's birthday celebration... now can liao! :D But of course, wanted to surprise him... but he said he 'clever' and called my bluff...

So, with so much time in my hands, I still managed to go home (and get out of my WET uniform), took a shower, went to town and bought myself 'something'...and went to Sun Moulin to get darteo's birthday cake... the absolutely wonderful Black Forest!! Then it was all the way back to Paris Ris Downtown East for the chalet cum BBQ...

This year, due to my in-camp, I wasn't able to plan the celebration... so the assignment was 'outsourced' to jules...my only contribution was the cake... haha.. :-)

Anyway, the usual suspects turned up... jules and myself, the birthday boy, kee kee, gisbabe, layful, connie, ah heng, steph and jiahui... i can't remember when was the last time I was at downtown east ... cos the place like completely foreign to me...

Thoroughly enjoyed myself!.. somehow the food tasted better when you're with the right company... after BBQ, we retreated back into the cool comfort of the chalet and played with jule's Nintendo Wii!... I think i'm hooked on Pokemon Battle Revolutions.... so my next indugence will be the Wii!! Wheeeeeeeee!

We left around 2:30am... cos jules needs his beauty rest for another round of BBQ today... I guess he should be setting up the fire now was I'm writing typing.

So.... before i sign off, wishing my bro Darteo a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Blog EntryFlavour Of The Day : CurryAug 23, '07 10:20 AM
for everyone

My past 3 days in camp had been quite relaxed...mostly it had been lectures and practicals on military police operations... But the one thing that really got on my nerve was those balls-carrying guys who were trying to suck up to our platoon commander... As a result, they got to do less, talk more and in the end, became total pain in the ass! You can see them hovering around the PC like vultures during lunch and breaks! Then there are those SIAO-ON-just-to-put-up-a-show type! Really hypocritical people!

My in-camps used to be quite enjoyable...cause there are a few good buddies around whom i respect and am willing to go the extra mile for... But these guys are slowing completing their liabilities...

Thank goodness tomorrow is going to be the last day of this in-camp...and the next one will be a good 365 days away... I cannot stand another minute hanging around these kind of people...curry gives me constipation!

Oh, today is my brother's birthday, so Happy Birthday Leonard! Hope everything's fine and dandy down-under! Hopefully we'll be able to visit you come november!

Blog Entry75 Hours EarlierAug 20, '07 11:01 AM
for everyone
Because of my upcoming trip tommorrow, I'll be missing my bro's 31st birthday this year... So I decided to do it earlier (75 hours earlier).

Made dinner reservations for two at Morton's The Steakhouse at The Oriental. I did some research over the web the past 2 weeks and this steakhouse came highly recommended...

The restaurant was quite 'secluded', tucked away at a dark corner on the 4th floor of The Oriental... We were shown to our table quite promptly...and once we're seated, the waitress started introducing the different kind of meats the restaurant served... the place was damn noisy ... and the waitress' well-rehearsed speech just added to the noise...

Darteo had the Single Cut Filet Mignon, while i went for the signature dish, the Porterhouse steak (600g of meat!!). The entrees didn't come with sides, so we had to order what i thought was probably the costliest french fries (gosh! i hope those fries REALLY come from France!). I thought the steaks were only so-so. Darteo and I still preferred the steaks at Angus House... We capped off dinner with the Morton's Hot Chocolate Cake, which the waitress recommended. I thought the dessert was more like a brownie with vanilla ice cream.... and it was WAY TOO sweet for my liking.

Bro, hoped you enjoyed the dinner... and I hope the A&F polo fits... haha... HAPPY BIRTHDAY IN ADVANCE!!!

We didn't really stay out too long tonight as Darteo had some personal matters to attend to, and I also had to prepare for my 4 day trip tomorrow morning...

My "bags" are packed, and I "ready" to go....

P.S. If you're wondering what happened to Day 2 and Day 3 of my Hong Kong trip? Well, it can be summed up in 3 words... "Eat", "Sleep" and "Shop" :D

Blog EntryPampered (Day One of HK Vay-kay)Aug 16, '07 8:33 AM
for everyone

It really feels good to be pampered!

Woke up at 5:30am this morning and had to drag my tired ass to the airport... I was thinking since I had already done an online check-in 24 hours ago, I can afford to arrive later....

We were told by the Cathay Pacific staff at the counter that the flight was full and they were unable to accommodate our previous seat arrangements.... so they had no choice but to UPGRADE us to BUSINESS CLASS!

How cool was that??!! And you can REALLY feel the difference! The leg space! Wow! The service! Wow! The presentation of the food! Wow! The stewardess even greets us by our names... "Mr Chong, would you like the omelette or the congee?" Oooooo.... And the best part of this is, I only paid less that $500 for the air ticket! haha!!!

The flight took about 4 hours... and we arrived in Hong Kong around 12ish. The weather in Hong Kong .... was a TOTAL disaster!!! RAIN! COLD! FOGGY!!!!  :(

We waited around 1 hour at the airport before the hotel transfer people came to pick us up! So, by the time we reached Park Hotel, it was already 3pm.

It was then that we were told that the hotel is fully booked....so they had no choice but to UPGRADE us to the PREMIUM SUITE!

Aiyoh... felt so pampered lor... ;-)

There was no time to waste and we hit the streets immediately after dumping our luggage in our room suite. But the rain really dampened the mood...

Nonetheless, my 2-page shopping list is already 25% completed. :D

More (shopping) tomorrow.

Blog Entry"Three Of These Things...."Jul 24, '07 2:49 AM
for everyone
"... belong together. Three of these things are one and the same..."

I guess those that grew up to "Sesame Street" would probably recognise this song... and as the song goes, "One of these things, doesn't belong here..."

Yup. those were the stuff that I've gotten from my friends who are kind enough to accommodate them in their luggages ... and one of the items is not mine as I will be giving it away very soon... cannot wear leh... too small liao.

July had been very eventful. There was the "bonus-cum-promotion-cum-pay adjustment" that everyone was looking forward to. Congratulations to my bro and jules on getting their promotion (and a BIG FAT bonus). So we'll be awaiting for a BIG FAT treat also right? Of course, there were some who were disappointed. I was, but i've gotten over it.

My boss is out of action for the past 3 weeks or so due to a slipped disc and have to operate. Hope he recovers soon. In the meantime, I'll be covering him until he comes back to work. Gosh, how long will that be??

There has been some minor reorg in my company (again!), this time it concerned our job titles, and there had been many unpleasant' encounters with my boss' boss when i was trying to 'fight' for my staff's project titles. To make matters worse, my boss' boss told me yesterday evening that his boss told him that I am not qualified to play the role that he had proposed previously. So I guess I have resign... to fate. :(

July also marks the departure of one of our NSFs... ORD LOH!! haha... all the best moumoumonster!

Lots of errands to run today. Top on my list : My MacBook needs servicing cos the stupid firmware that I have downloaded had fried my SuperDrive, get my monteblanc refill, post a cheque at HSBC, buy my iPod Video....

Blog Entry"I Want Donuts"Jul 4, '07 10:38 AM
for everyone
Just the mention of these 3 words, and I've got a dozen of them specially hand delivered to my workplace... all thanks to this great guy named Cowan.

My goodness, i was just joking over MSN and i didn't expect him to actually do it! 12 lovely donuts from Vinco Doughnut Parlour @ Vivo....there is usually a very long queue there... so i guess he must have queued for quite a while to get them (unless he pre-ordered... or he sent his 'secretary' to queue on his behalf... haha!) but in any case, thank you bro!

Someone had told me that the donuts at Vinco wasn't as good as the ones from D.F, but we (my colleagues and I) thought otherwise... probably because they were freshly made... and they looked so lovely in the box I just had to take some shots of them, but DAMN!! just when you needed a camera, you can't find one... luckily i managed to find one... (eh? can bring camera phone meh?? SECURITY!!!!)

12 donuts were a bit too much for me to finish, so i decided to share (i hope you dun mind, cowan) some of them with my colleagues who happened to work 'overtime'... so darteo, gisbabe, jules... you know what to do hor... ;-)

Now that i've been properly bribed fed, i've gotta REALLY do a good job for the mission he assigned me ... siao liao leh... STRESS AH!!! haha...

Once again, THANK YOU!

Hmmm.... i wonder if i said "I Want iPod".... what will happen...

Blog EntryVroom Vroom.... transform!Jul 3, '07 9:20 AM
for everyone
i thought i'll just do a casual post instead of the usual melancholic stuff that i've been blogging about recently...

Anyway, i did the most 'crazy' thing today. I had a meeting with my vendors over at the Pacific Coffee at Vivocity today and it kinda ended early, so I decided to walk around... and eventually made my way to Toy 'R' Us.

There was a crowd there... mostly concentrated around the Transformers toys... Everybody seems to be on a buying frenzy over there, despite the 2% increase in GST (haha)... so i joined in the excitement...

In the end, i got myself the "Autobot Jazz"... it happened to be the LAST piece on the shelf... and I am DAMN lucky to snatch it before the teary-eyed boy who was just a few steps behind me could... haha... too bad kid! na-nee-na-nee-poo-poo!!

Although "Jazz" didn't end up too 'well' in the movies.... it's still my favourite.... firstly, because it's a Pontiac Solstice (my DREAM car)... and secondly, "Jazz" sounds like my name in short... Jus. haha... like that also can.. :P

Went home, tried my hands in 'transforming' the toy... almost broke it into 2 (hey! sounds familiar right? hahaha)...thank goodness there's an instruction manual included with the toy...

Then i realised something on the box..... "Ages 4+".... hmm... i qualify or not?
